Potato Innovation Tour 2025 Competition
The Potato Innovation Tour (the “Competition”) is promoted by BASF plc, company number: 667980, registered office: 4th & 5th floors, 2 Stockport Exchange, Stockport, SK1 3GG (the “Promoter”).
These Terms and Conditions govern the selection of two individuals to attend the Potato Innovation Tour on August 5 and August 6, 2025 (the “Tour”). By entering or accepting a place on the Tour, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
How to enter:
1. The Competition is only open for entry by any individual working in the agricultural industry whose registered address or principal place of business is in England, Scotland, or Wales.
2. To enter the Competition the entrant must satisfy all of the following conditions:
a) Sign up to the Competition via the online web form hosted at https://www.agricentre.basf.co.uk/en/News-Events/Events/Event-detail_104704-104704.html and complete all the required fields before 23:59 on 22nd July 2025 for entry to the competition; and
b) Be aged 18 or over at the time of entry.
3. A participant who has validly entered the Competition by satisfying all the conditions in paragraph 2 shall qualify for one entry into the competition. There are two Potato Innovation Tour competition places available comprising two nights’ accommodation on the tour, food and travel during the tour and entry to all tour sites].
Entrants must confirm their full availability to participate in both days of the Tour (August 5 and August 6, 2025). Failure to confirm full-day availability on both dates will render the entry invalid. Winners shall confirm their agreement and acceptance to the Tour terms and conditions set out at schedule 1. Failure to do so will result in the entry being declared invalid and a re-draw taking place.
4. The competition will take place on 15th July 2025.
5. Winners will be selected based on responses provided in the application form. Entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel consisting of organizers and at least one independent person, in accordance with UK competition best practices. The decision of the judging panel is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. Participation is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.
7. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prizes with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary or desirable to do so.
8. Late, incomplete, or corrupt entries or entries not fulfilling all the conditions of paragraph 2 will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for incomplete entries.
9. A participant can only enter the competition once and is only eligible for a maximum of one prize in the Competition.
10. The Competition is available during stated dates only.
Winner announcement
11. The Promoter will notify the winners as soon as practicable via the contact details given at registration, and in any event within 5 days of the draw.
12. The winners of the Competition will be contacted after judging has taken place via the contact details provided on sign up to the Competition.
Claiming the prizes
13. The Promoter reserves the right to offer the Tour to the next eligible winner (using the same process as outlined in paragraph 5) or withdraw the Tour offered from the competition, if within 5 days of the competition close, the winner:
- cannot be contacted via the email or phone using the contact details given at application; and/or
- has not confirmed acceptance of their place on the Tour in response to an email or call via the contact details given at application.
- Has not confirmed that they will abide by the Tour terms and conditions set out at schedule 1.
Liability
14. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prize or gift impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the individual agrees that no liability shall attach to the promoter as a result thereof.
15. The Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury incurred during participation in the Tour (except that which cannot be excluded by law).
Personal data
16. The participants’ personal information will be used by BASF for the purpose of this Competition including the advertising of the names of the winners and may be passed on to third party suppliers as required.
By entering, participants consent to the use of their personal data for the purposes of administering the Tour and related promotional activities, in line with the Privacy Policy of the organizers.
17. Participants personal information may also be used for other purposes as defined in BASF’s privacy policy here BASF Privacy Policy.
Miscellaneous
18. The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, cancel or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
19. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Schedule 1: Tour terms and conditions
Tour details
The Potato Innovation Tour will take place on August 5 and August 6, 2025.
Full attendance on both days in mandatory. No partial participation will be permitted.
Travel, accommodation, meals, and event access may be provided by the organizers – details will be communicated to confirmed winners.
The Tour Organisers will arrange and cover the cost of public transport to and from the Tour for both winners. Specific arrangements will be communicated and agreed upon in advance.
Accommodation for the night of August 5, 2025, will be arranged and paid for by the organizers. If a winner confirms they plan to attend Potatoes in Practice 2025 on August 7, 2025, the organizers will also arrange and pay for hotel accommodation on the night of August 6, 2025.
Meals during the Tour dates (August 5 and August 6, 2025) will be fully covered by the organizers.
Winners will be asked to provide any dietary requirements or allergies in advance of the Tour.
The organizers will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs; however, winners acknowledge that some locations may have limited options, and full dietary guarantees cannot be made.
It is the winner’s responsibility to communicate critical dietary needs clearly and promptly.
Any additional personal expenses, including incidental or discretionary spending, are the responsibility of the winners.
Transport & Physical Accessibility
Selected winners must disclose any relevant health conditions or physical limitations that may impact their ability to participate safely in the Tour.
This information will be used solely to ensure appropriate arrangements or accommodations can be made and will be treated in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
By accepting a place, winners confirm they are physically capable of participating in all planned activities, including walking across farm terrain.
Suitable footwear and outdoor clothing are strongly recommended.
If a winner has accessibility concerns or physical limitations, they must notify the organizers in advance to discuss possible accommodations.
Media Consent & Marketing Use
By entering the competition and accepting a place on the Tour, winners grant the organizers permission to:
- Photograph and film them during the Tour.
- Use their name, likeness, testimonials, quotes, and submitted feedback for promotional, advertising, and publicity purposes.
This content may be used in print, online, and social media formats for a period of up to 24 months from the date of the Tour.
No further remuneration will be provided for such use.
Code of Conduct & On-Site Safety
Winners are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner, and in a manner that reflects positively on the event and its sponsors.
All winners must follow any health and safety guidelines, signage, or verbal instructions provided by the organizers or venue representatives at all times.
The organizers reserve the right to remove any winner from the Tour if they breach these requirements or behave inappropriately.
