How to... Give OSR crops the best start with Caryx

Optimum Timing

  • Monitoring – A crop that has the potential for canopy height to be > 25cm by the end of autumn growth will benefit from an Autumn/Spring sequence of Caryx.

  • Application Timing – Spray when the crop is between 4-6 leaves in September/October to maximise the benefit of Caryx.

Tips on Spraying

  • Spray quality - A medium spray will provide adequate coverage

  • Rainfastness – Allow a minimum of 30 minutes to ensure Caryx is fully rainfast.

  • Water Rate – 150-200 Litres of water/Ha will provide good coverage depending on the crop canopy. Remember: If spraying in less than 150 litres of water, the Caryx dose must be reduced in accordance to the label to maintain the maximum concentration eg. Caryx at 1.0l/ha, the minimum water volume = 107 litres of water

  • Speed – Maximum tractor speed of 16 Kph

  • Calibration – Ensure your sprayer is correctly calibrated before spraying commences
