Late drilled winter wheat – Crystal® still the best start
Winter wheat drilled after root crops:
Autumn 2021 drilling conditions have been far better than the previous two seasons. Root crops are coming out of the ground well which means creating decent seedbeds for winter wheat has been far easier this year.
This ability to create good seedbeds also means growers can take advantage of making sure they can use the best soil residual chemistry available to them, allowing them to stay on top of grassweed pressure.
Soil and air temperatures are still relatively high for the time of year so crop and grassweed growth will be strong as soil moisture is not a limiting factor.
Crystal® + DFF = Best start for grassweed control
- The best pre-em combination for black-grass and ryegrass control
- 3 modes of action combined in one tank
- Label flexibility:
- No calendar cut off, can apply up to growth stage 23
- Can be used post-em, helpful if conditions mean pre-em application was not possible
- Pendimethalin provides:
- Increased grassweed activity to boost the flufenacet
- Residual control to capture later germinating weeds
- Different mode of action to partner flufenacet and provide robust resistance management
- Broad BLW activity
