Maximise maize yield and quality with Comet® 200

Comet® 200 is a fungicide with protectant and curative properties for disease control in winter wheat, spring wheat, winter barley, spring barley, winter oats and spring oats. Comet® 200 is also a fungicide with protectant properties for disease control in forage maize and grain maize.

Comet® 200 can increase yield even in the absence of disease

80 BASF tramline trials have shown the impressive performance of Comet® 200:

  • Crop yield
    • 5% increase in fresh weight (t/ha)
    • 8% increase in dry matter yield (t/ha)
  • Energy for milk/meat production
    • 9% increase in ME (MJ/ha)
  • Biogas
    • 9% increase in Biogas production (m3(Source; /ha) 80 large scale unreplicated German farm tramline trials 2010 to 2012)

Comet® 200 – The fungicide with added physiological benefits

In addition to disease control, Comet® 200 (pyraclostrobin) can significantly improve both the yield and quality of maize, because of its fungicidal and physiological effects, such as:

  • Improved rooting
  • Improved drought tolerance and recovery after drought stress
  • Increased green leaves at harvest
  • Increased crop yield (%DM)
  • Increased crop quality (cob size, starch content)
  • Improved production (milk yield and biomass production)
