PGR usage at T2

Recent wet weather and rapid lush growth mean a good PGR at T2 is critical

With nearly continuous rain since the last bank holiday and forecast warmer temperatures, crops have grown away strongly and will continue to. Where T0 and T1 applications were light, this rapid canopy growth may not be equally balanced by a strong rooting system, needed to keep the plant stable and upright.

Light, earlier PGR applications may also have increased the risk of bounce-back of vertical growth. This needs to be addressed with a robust T2 application.

Our PGRs with two modes of action offer:

  • Fast uptake to address lodging risk quickly at a critical timing
  • Shorten and strengthen the upper internodes, reducing brackling & stem leverage
  • Thickens the main stem, increasing resistance to stem lodging
  • Flexible products
    • Approved on a wide range of winter and spring cereals
    • Wide application window, even late in the season when growth stage cut offs can be an issue
    • Compatible in a wide range of tank mixes

Terpal® at T2

Terpal® is an alternative PGR at T2, especially in barley crops where the combination of mepiquat-chloride and 2-chloroethylphosphonic-acid provide the best option against brackling and evening-up the height of the main and side tillers.
