Why Cleranda®?

As a Clearfield® herbicide, Cleranda® is designed to work directly with Clearfield® varieties, which have been traditionally bred to tolerate the active ingredient, imazamox.

Cleranda® is a contact and residual herbicide that controls a wide range of broad-leaved and grass weeds in any Clearfield® winter oilseed rape hybrid. The post emergence application of Cleranda® offers flexibility at a busy time of year, as well as a ‘wait and see’ approach. Cleranda® offers excellent control of difficult to control cruciferous weeds such as charlock, runch and hedge mustard, along with volunteer OSR, volunteer cereals and a wide spectrum of broad-leaf weeds.

The excellent performance of Cleravo® means it can be used as a single-shot option post-emergence of the crop. Weeds should be targeted at one to four true leaves and be actively growing, which is typically in September and October.

The Clearfield® system

Clearfield® is a unique system, offering unique benefits. Using conventional breeding techniques, Clearfield® varieties have been developed that work directly with our Clearfield® herbicides.

Strong establishing varieties and tolerance to any possible SU herbicide residues from the previous crop, help the crop get off to the best start.
The wide-ranging weed control delivered by Cleranda® and Cleravo® provides excellent control of cruciferous weeds, volunteer OSR, volunteer cereals and a wide range of broad-leaf weeds.

Overall, the system provides greater confidence, flexibility and control over your OSR crops.

How Cleranda® measures up in weed control

In field trials, Cleranda® and Dash® HC displayed strong performance against a wide range of weeds.

Hard to control cruciferous weeds such as charlock and runch were well controlled, along with common weeds such as chickweed.

Choose Clearfield® for greater confidence in
your OSR

With any good outcome, you have to start right. So when developing a solution to OSR’s notorious unpredictability, that’s exactly where we began – the seed. Hybrid varieties of OSR were developed that work directly with the Clearfield® herbicides. Flexible, fast establishing and effective against the widest range of weeds, it’s a system that’s produced some remarkable results.

Metazachlor matters

Metazachlor matters

To protect water, avoid use of metazachlor herbicides on drained land after 1st October. If soil/seedbed conditions are good and drains are not flowing, applications can continue until 15th October. (Joint BASF / Adama advice 2015).
