Why Luxinum® Plus + Stomp® Aqua?
Luxinum® Plus + Stomp® Aqua combines the unrivalled power of Luximo® with the long lasting, residual activity of pendimethalin. Proven to outperform all other soil residual chemistry, Luxinum® Plus + Stomp® Aqua provides a powerful new backbone for weed control in winter wheat.
To be used as part of an IPM strategy, Luxinum® Plus + Stomp® Aqua delivers excellent control of black-grass, ryegrass, annual meadowgrass, poppy and a wide range of broad-leaved weeds.
Black-grass control
Luxinum® Plus delivers a step change in performance when it comes to black-grass control and we recommend it as a replacement to flufenacet as the base of herbicide programmes.
Across 106 UK pre-emergence black-grass trials over four years, across different soil types and weed pressure – a mix of independent and BASF trials - Luxinum® Plus gave an extra 22 percentage points of control over solo flufenacet.
Across 56 UK pre-emergence black-grass trials across three years, Luxinum® Plus + pendimethalin and diflufenican outperformed Liberator (flufenacet + diflufenican) + aclonifen by an average of 12.5 percentage points in control.
Ryegrass control
Luxinum® Plus is also proving to be an exciting new gamechanger for ryegrass control and we recommend it as a replacement to flufenacet as the base of herbicide programmes.
Across 17 UK pre-emergence ryegrass trials over four years across different soil types and weed pressure – a mix of independent and BASF trials - Luxinum® Plus gave an extra 29 percentage points of control over solo flufenacet.
With ryegrass seemingly becoming a bigger problem for UK growers, Luxinum Plus + Stomp Aqua provides a key solution.
Brome control
Luxinum® Plus + Stomp® Aqua delivers comparable levels of control against bromes as current, residual market standards.
No soil residual herbicide offers full control of brome. An integrated cultural and chemical approach, consisting of a pre and post-emergence spray programme is needed for the best control.
The importance of IPM
Luximo® provides an exciting step change in performance against black-grass and Italian ryegrass, however, it is essential that it is used with an alternative mode of action and as part of an IPM approach.
Cultural controls such as delayed drilling and spring cropping must continue to remain at the heart of weed management, enabling sustainable control, whilst also optimising the performance of Luxinum® Plus + Stomp® Aqua.

Best practice application
As with all soil residual herbicides, it is important to adhere to the following application guidelines to maximise performance and crop safety:
- Apply pre-emergence herbicides as soon as possible after drilling, ideally within 24-48 hours
- Ideally spray on to moist, clod-free and consolidated seedbeds, with minimal trash
- Ensure seed is adequately covered by a minimum of 32mm settled soil
- If direct drilling, make sure slots are closed before application
- Forward speeds should not exceed 12kph
Broad-leaved Weed Control
Luxinum® Plus offers protection against the common poppy, whilst the well-rounded protection of pendimethalin offers comprehensive control across a range of broad-leaved weeds.
