Why Pontos?

This adaptable autumn herbicide has three benefits in one, broad spectrum weed control, flexibility and easy handling.

Pontos® is an SC formulation containing 100 g/l picolinafen and 240 g/l flufenacet. It can be applied pre-emergence at 1.0 l/ha or post-emergence of the crop at 0.5 l/ha. Latest crop timing is end of tillering.

The unique formulation of the two active ingredients makes Pontos® an effective herbicide solution that is flexible to fit into any situation. Pontos® works well in both both drier and moister conditions and does not have any following crop restrictions such as DFF containing products.

For many comparable products, herbicide resistance has been a growing trend. Pontos® has proven to be effective against black-grass, annual meadow grass, italian ryegrass and annual broad-leaved weeds.

Picolinafen – the performance partner

Picolinafen is the performance partner, an ideal combination with flufenacet that brings a different mode of action. Picolinafen has a complementary effect on flufenacet, it broadens the broad-leaved weed spectrum, speed of activity and grass-weed efficacy.

In areas with heavy black-grass infestation, no single product can do the job alone. Stacking and sequencing programmes of herbicides are necessary to get sufficient control. Pontos® can be tank-mixed with a wide range of partners for either pre or post-emergence control.

Broad-spectrum weed control

The following photos illustrate how the complementary activity of picolinafen accelerates the speed of activity against even highly resistant black-grass. Pontos® gives excellent control of annual meadow grass at 0.5lt/ha both pre and post-emergence.
