Corn Marigold is an annual branched and upright dicotyledon, up to 60cm tall, with grey-green hairless leaves and large yellow flowers like those of daisies.
Key Features
Plant: The leaves are grey-green, cover in a water-resistant wax.
Young plant: The seedling has a long hypocotyl, a waxy appearance, and is pale blue-green in colour. The first true leaves are very narrow and usually have several lateral lobes, but the shape is very variable.
Mature plant: Mature plants are hairless. The leaves are deeply lobed, oblong or wedge-shaped, and greyish green in colour, three times as long as broad and clasping the stem.
