Fungus. There are many different varieties that adore apples. Wet and warm weather is the dream combination so far as fungus is concerned.
Wildlife
Placing different types of nesting boxes throughout the farmland and ensuring suitable habitats has encouraged a vast number of species of insects and birds including the severely threatened Turtle Dove.

- Adrian Scripps Ltd has been growing blackcurrants continuously for the high vitamin C Ribena drink since the 1960s.
- Some of the grapes Charles’ grows are used to make English sparkling wine.
- Approximately 71 cold-storage units across two sites which can hold 14,000 tons of fresh produce. The fruit in storage is monitored twice a day, every day of the year. It’s sampled every month to ensure quality is being protected.
- Over 100 permanent staff work at Adrian Scripps, with seasonal workers helping at harvest.
