Managing tuber blight with Percos
Benefits of Percos®
The 37A2 strain of Phytophthora infestans has changed how late blight is managed. The evolution of a second strain showing resistance/insensitivity to phenylamines or fluazinam has highlighted the need to protect active substances. The loss of fluazinam combined with protracted desiccation, the result of reliance on PPO inhibitors, has created a further challenge for the management of tuber blight
- Coformulation of two late blight actives, one with a unique mode of action, gives built in resistance management
- Percos® also has activity against tuber blight, supported with an on label recommendation
• Results from key potato producing countries: UK, D, F, Be and NL
• Not all trials had the same treatments and hence the different trial number between products. Ranman Top was the strongest treatment against tuber blight (although from fewer trials)
• Fewer results with Sterling as only trialled in the UK. Infection levels happened to be higher in these trials, possibly the result from an extended infection period. These were different trials to the straight Percos treatments
• With the addition of Crusade, Percos consistently delivers the efficacy against foliar blight of top draw products: Revus, Ranman Top and Infinito, or better
