The ultimate PGR insurance policy
Canopy® at T1
Key messages:
- Mild winter has led to strong crop growth and some thick looking crops with good yield potential
- A programmed approach to PGRs is the most consistent way to create both optimal crop canopy structure and ear/tiller numbers for yield
- Canopy® combines quick uptake and residual activity that works in cool, cloudy conditions
Why Canopy® at T1?
Mild winter conditions have meant some crops are looking thick and forward for this time of year. Yield potential is there, which means it is critical to build a solid plant foundation to support this potential later in the season. Even though temperatures have been mild, they can still dip, and the days are cloudy, this means you need a PGR that will provide reliable results in these conditions.
Canopy® has two key active ingredients which complement each other to provide quick uptake into the plant to give immediate activity and then a residual part to provide long lasting effect.
Reliable, proven performance ...
- Shorter – reduces internode length
- Thicker – increases stem thickness
- Stronger – improved rooting strength
PGRs are considered an insurance policy for the crop and it is very difficult to predict whether it is going to be a ‘lodging year’, but the cost in yield reduction and gross profit is well known. If you are going to take out an insurance policy, use one that is proven to provide the necessary cover.
Canopy® will:
- Be immediately available within the plant to provide instant PGR effects
- Give timing flexibility with activity at lower temperatures (active from 5oC)
- Activity independent from sunlight requirements
- Give long lasting activity
- Label use across different winter cereals
