Why Quirinus?

Quirinus® is a suspension concentrate containing 50 g/l picolinafen and 240 g/l flufenacet. This herbicide has residual and contact activity for the control of a range of grass and broad-leaved weeds in winter wheat, barley, rye and triticale.

This adaptable autumn herbicide has three benefits in one: broad spectrum weed control, flexibility and easy handling.

Quirinus® can be applied at pre-emergence or post emergence until the start of stem elongation BBCH 30.

The formulation of the two active ingredients makes Quirinus® an effective herbicide solution that is flexible to fit into any situation. The half-life of picolinafen means there are no issues caused for following crops.

For many comparable products, herbicide resistance has been a growing trend. Quirinus® has proven to be effective against Black-grass, Annual meadow grass, Italian Ryegrass and annual broad-leaved weeds.

Picolinafen – the performance partner

Picolinafen is the performance partner, an ideal combination with flufenacet that brings a different mode of action. Picolinafen has a complementary effect on flufenacet, it broadens the broad-leaved weed spectrum, speed of activity and grass-weed efficacy.

In areas with heavy black-grass infestation, no single product can do the job alone. Stacking and sequencing programmes are necessary to get sufficient control. Quirinus® can be used as a tank mix partner with Stomp Aqua to get maximum control.

Application and timing

More consistent control is achieved from early application:

  • Grasses:
    pre-emergence up to 1-2 leaves
  • Broad-leaved weeds:
    Pre-emergence up to 2-4 leaves

In high grass pressure situations tank mix with different actives or products e.g. Stomp® Aqua and diflufenican.

At later post-emergence timings tank mix with a contact acting graminicide.
