Best Practice Examples for Research and Development
Protecting Honeybees
- Our crop protection products undergo many years of stringent testing to ensure that there are no adverse impacts on bees when applied according to the label instructions.
- Our partnership with NOD Apiary Products will bring to beekeepers a novel product that controls the Varroa mite. Investing in innovative solutions, such as north_east Mite Away™ Quick Strip where the acaricide is incorporated into a biodegradable film, the beekeeper has an easy-to-use, targeted and flexible solution. The product can be applied right through the season, even during honey flow.
We support bee research and promote increased bee populations.
Example: The French Bee Biodiversity Network
Taking up the challenge to promote and improve biodiversity, BASF and its more than 15 partners in this project initiated a network of scientists, beekeepers, farmers and private societies: The French Bee Biodiversity Network. Its aim: Enhance honey bee and pollinator populations. Together with more than 300 farmers and other partners in France, the network is running a program which has shown very exiting positive results.
